The latest addition to my designs is the CRAZY HORSE hobo nickel.
I hand carved this one on a United States buffalo nickel like all the other hobo nickels that I carve.
I really appreciate all that are interested in my artwork. It means a lot to me. Thank You

I made it onto the Hobo Collector website under Modern Carvers... which states: Because of the sheer and ever growing volume of modern carvings out there, only above average and superior nickel carvings will be added to this section.....
Check it out: www.hobocollector.com
and click on modern carvers
I am honored to be on this page with such great talented carvers.

The Grim Reaper buffalo coin.. This hobo nickel was inspired by a childhood memory. When I was younger there was a group of us guys that would all hang out together from the same neighborhood. We would meet everyday and hangout everyday. We named ourselves "The Reapers" for reasons I really don't remember but we all were very close in age and very close friends. I miss those days.

Thought I would take it back a little and do a classic hobo. Carved this on a 1928 buffalo nickel.
I want to thank everyone for their interest in my new carving hobby. I really appreciate all the support I have gotten from family, friends and strangers alike.
The hobo nickel is a sculptural art form involving the creative modification of small-denomination coins, essentially resulting in miniature bas-reliefs. The nickel, because of its size, thickness, and relative softness, was a favored coin for this purpose. However, the term hobo nickel is generic, as carvings have been made from many different denominations. Due to its low cost and portability, this medium was particularly popular among hobos, hence the name (Hobo Nickel).~ Wikipedia
